FOR SALE! £200!!!!! Mystic Blue 1.4L petrol golf. Great car, run perfect until a month ago. Here is what it does..... Struggles to start but when it is started the revs bounce around 500-1500 rpm on tick over. But it drives perfect and revs up perfect. just tick over and starting is the problem. Still has tax and MOT till may. Last year it had new clutch, water pump, and few other bits ill post as i remember! But in December we tested it and the code 00515 kept coming up (camshaft position sensor) but ran fine so didnt bother with it. Late January it kept cutting out everytime i went through a puddle (presumed water getting in somewhere!) it started fine each time after it had cut out so it was just a cut out and re start again. We changed the Distributor (as that has the sensor in it!) so its had a new distributor/sensor/dizzy cap! After that was changed it started on the problem it now has. timings been checked and is fine, we have cleaned out the throttle body hoping it was that, it has helped it but not fixed it! We have changed a few vacuum piped hoping that was the problem, still nope. but the fault 00515 is still coming up! We now think its the wiring loom going from the car to the sensor (only thing we can think now!!) But it needs to be shifted fast as in the way and just sat there doing nothing. Great and solid in every other way! Iv been as honest as possible and will need towing away. £200 on a set of steelies £300 on the alloys it has on it (15 Wolfrace) Offers are accepted. should be a easy fix for someone mechanically minded!
