FOR TRIED AND TROUBLED SAINTS When youre feeling down and blue And you dont know what to do, Lift your eyes to God above Watching oer in tender love. He who gave His life for you Knowing just what He can do, Bends His ear to hear your cry Touch you powerfully from on high. Theres no pain He cannot heal Theres no sorrow He cant feel, Theres no sin He cant forgive, He is willing now to give. Blessed pardon, peace and power In this dark and lonesome hour, Raise you from the deep despair Himself carry all your care. When youve done all you can do He will safely see you through, Though youre weak His strength is there Pick you up and He will bear. Hes at work within you now At His feet just humbly bow, Let Him have His way with you He will bring you safely through. Lord I lay me at Your feet Let my surrender be complete, Trust you wholly with my life Bring me through the battle strife. When my lifes work soon is done And the race and victory won, Safe with you in Heaven at last Resting on your blessed breast. Can this be? My poor heart asks When I survey my past tasks, How can I such blessings share Can I really hope and dare? This is no reward for you Its a holy gift and true, Purchased by your Saviours blood Safely stored in Heaven above. He will safely bring you home When your work on earth is done.
