FOSTER or FOREVER ANGEL CRITICALLY NEEDED!! This is the face of sweet-surrender for Smitty has the biggest heart for anyone that will give him a few minutes of their time. Unfortunately Smitty has seen the inside of a kennel or crate more than he has known the sweet taste of freedom in the outside world. You see Smitty is around a year old and has really never experienced unfettered freedom. He has not known what it is like to wake up from a nap in a pile of blankets on a bed. Smitty does not know what the feel of the sun on his back feels like as the wind blows through the open back door as he stretches his way across the threshold lazily walking to grab a cool drink of water. Smitty only knows he would thoroughly enjoy each and every minute. Currently languishing away in boarding, almost 300+ days inside the walls of a kennel or crate. Literally his entire puppy-hood is waiting to come bounding out in happiness if only one person would open their heart and home to Smitty. Our boy is a lab/pittie mix, around a year old, dog-friendly with proper introductions as Smitty comes with LOTS of energy and excitement. He just wants to play but is still learning how to curtail his manners. Smitty would need a true transition period when acclimating to another dog in the home to allow both dogs time to adjust. Smitty needs to learn to give another dog space as he is constantly ready for more fun and attention. He is a strong personality in need of a strong handler who can guide his energy in the right direction. Smitty is great around kids, but again, his energy and exuberance would need to be watched as his heart gets ahead of his mind at times. A lover of outdoor games like fetch, cloud counting, rope tossing and so much more. Share Smitty who is approaching a critical stage from his lack of emotional and physical stimulation. He now has a rash from repetitive rubbing across his nose, exhibits pacing behavior and general kennel anxiety is starting to take its toll on his soul ... Smitty NEEDS OUT NOW. Please share with anyone especially those with no other pets as we would love to give this boy some pure rest and down time as he realigns his vision with the outside world.
