FOUR EXPERTS Once four experts- an Ayurvedic Dr. an astrologer, one musician and one debating scholar, had to spend a day in a village. Each were experts related to their own fields, but had no knowledge of practical life. They started collecting food items they needed. The Ayurvedic Dr. went to buy vegetables. But returned without buying anything. Due to his medical knowledge, he did not like to buy vegetable. He thought potato will cause gas, onion will cause TAMAS. In this way all vegetables were defective in his eyes. The astrologer who went to buy coconut, climbed on a coconut tree. While he was coming down, a donkey shouted which was standing near a house. He stopped in between and began analyzing the effects to be caused by the bray on astrological basis. He stayed in the middle of the tree. The story of the musician expert was more pathetic and ridiculous than this. There was rice cooking vessel in the oven. He saw rice cooking in the pot. At that time he started putting rhythm. The rice did not boil as per his rhythm. So, the music expert got angry and broke the pot. All the rice was scattered nn the ground and wasted. The debating expert was also not less than this. He bought a bowl of ghee. He began to research in the middle, that whether the bowl is based on ghee or the ghee is based on the bowl ? In this venture, he dropped the bowl upside down. The whole ghee fell down on the floor. He regretted for loosing the ghee. Still, he was happy on the clearance he got on the research he made. With this happiness, he returned home. Reading alone is not enough. True wisdom must be gained. The much you learn, it won’t make you truly happy .Wisdom is high happiness. Book knowledge is lifeless knowledge. By serving a Guru, learning from him/her, following his/ her teaching wholeheartedly, experience and true wisdom must be attained.-SWAMI SIVANANDA
