FRESH BREAD: And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29) When David left his sheep in the field and arrived at the army’s camp, he volunteered to face Goliath. His family however, challenged his motives. Fear had crippled the army of God as they listened to the terrifying threats of the Philistine giant. But David carried a different spirit. Looking at the Israelites paralyzed with fright, David boldly declared,“Is there not a cause?” Like David, many often times feel like they just don’t fit in - and maybe they dont. However, God’s cause motivates them to go far beyond the norm of religious expression. Some of these warriors have been branded as being too fervent, bold, zealous, militant etc. Others find themselves discontented, distressed and in search of identity, purpose and destiny (1 Samuel 22:1-2). But whatever the case may be, they cannot be silenced. They want God’s power to be evident in them, through them and around them. They want to see territories, cities and nations touched by the power of the Gospel. These believers are not afraid to face a great cause. So today, drown out the voices of the naysayers in your life - those critics who think they know best and always have a strong opinion. They only voice you ought to give credence to is that of the Holy Spirit. And once you make yourself available to Him, like David you too will take dominion and authority even in the most challenging of situations. This I know to be true. Selah!!
