FROM JKA: OGUN STATE ON MY MIND! HEALTH REFORM (PHONE A DOCTOR FREE CONSULT): No responsible Government will take the health and Well-being of its citizens for granted. Our administration will bring well-being/health-care as near as possible to all citizens in the state, with primary health centres available in every Local Government area(LGA). Each LGA will have a minimum of FOUR primary health centres and a General Hospital with new and modern health-care Facilities/Equipment and our Gov. shall also look at the possibility of upgrading two existing health facilities to teaching hospitals. In view of the relative access of our people to cell phones, Our Government is going to initiate a “Phone-A-Doctor” (FREE CALL MEDICAL CONSULTATION CENTER) to the people of Ogun state. In order to offer advice on treatment for complicated ailment tips on health related issues and to provide for patient that are not within the reach of a Hospital. This program has the potential to help people around Ogun state overcome geographical or income barriers in getting adequate top-notch consultation on Health related issues which currently degraded the quality of their Health. Our Government will also look into some key points issues in the Health sector. E.g: * EFFECTIVE: Providing health care services based on scientific knowledge to all who could benefit and refrain from providing services to those unlikely to benefit (Avoiding under use and overuse). * PATIENT CENTERED: Providing care that is respectful of and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs and values. * TIMELY: Reducing waits and sometimes harmful delay for both those who receive and give care * EFFICIENT: Avoiding waste, such as waste of equipment, supplies, ideas, and energy * EQUITABLE: Providing Health care that does not differ in quality because of personal characteristics such as Gender, Ethnicity, Geographical location and Socioeconomic status * WELFARE: Adequate remuneration for staffs in the sector. * OGUN STATE EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE (OGSEAS) will be upgraded to provide emergency services on all major roads in the state. Our goal on health care quality improvement is to maintain what is good about the existing facilities in our hospitals while focusing on the area that needs improvement.
