FROM OUR FIRNEDS IN VIRGINIA: The latest reports of the failure of ObamaCare underscore the fact that Ted Cruz was RIGHT, and his critics - who attacked him both publicly and privately - were Wrong. During the budget and debt ceiling debates, some errant politicians repeatedly said that their vision of leadership was to do nothing, have ObamaCares implementation do real harm to the American people, and when it failed we could ride in like the cavalry and tell the public that since Obamas plan failed they should now give us a try. It was truly baffling to watch these individuals go on TV and tell the American people this: Our plan is to watch you suffer through something we know is horrible and then you can come begging to us for relief. That is not leadership. Instead, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and conservatives in the House and Senate spoke truth to power. They stood up and took action based on principle and explained that the dangers of ObamaCare were so great that they werent afraid of paying a short term political price if it meant a long term gain for their country. As Americans are now beginning to sort through the train wreck of ObamaCare and assess how we got into such a disastrous mess they will appreciate the fact that some people had the courage of their convictions and spoke out. That is what leadership is all about. And that is why whenever we have the chance we should elect brave leaders over establishment cogs who prefer to practice politics as a game - focusing on tactics and strategies instead of on principles, ideals and ideas. Right now we have an opportunity to get behind a real leader. His name is Ken Cuccinelli and he is the Conservative Republican candidate for Governor of Virginia. Youve likely heard of Mr. Cuccinelli, since he was the FIRST Attorney General in the nation to file a lawsuit to have ObamaCare ruled unconstitutional by the courts).
