FROM THE KPD: Shooting Investigation On August 25, 2013 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Officers of the Kokomo Police Department were sent to St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Room in reference to a female with a gunshot wound to her leg. Upon officers’ arrival to the hospital, a male victim with a gunshot wound to his side arrived to the Emergency Room. The female victim was identified as 22-year-old Gabrielle McDowell and the male victim was identified as 23-year-old Kareen Dunn. Both victims told officers that they were in a car in the 900 block of East Broadway Street when someone began shooting at them. McDowell was treated and released while Dunn was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for further treatment.
