FROM THE NEWSROOM: A brand new black chain link fence should be keeping trespassers out of the High Street cemetery in Killingly. Town Councilor Lynn Laberge said there was some concern that people were cutting through the cemetery to Killingly Commons, damaging headstones in the process. Laberge explained how recently brush and trees were cleared for the fence to go up; she said several local donors are to thank for making this project possible. She also said that while some businesses from the Killingly Commons tried to help out, they were ultimately unable to due to the red tape of being part of national chains. She said the town also contributed some funding for the fence, but those funds will be made up for by a raffle this fall.
