FROM THE NEWSROOM: HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Yale student who has been quarantined in his home following his return from Liberia says the order from Connecticuts government was based on politics and not science. Ryan Boyko returned to the U.S. on Oct. 11 after helping Liberias government develop a computer system to track Ebola infections. He was admitted to a hospital when he developed a fever and ordered into quarantine despite testing negative for the virus. He said Tuesday in a telephone interview it was purely a political move to address public fears. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said people can develop Ebola after tests come back negative and the quarantine was ordered to not have any mistakes. The 30-year-old Boyko says hes working with activists pushing for uniform, science-backed guidelines for health workers returning from West Africa.
