FROM THE NEWSROOM: HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Connecticut House of Representatives has given final legislative approval to a $953 million bonds package, which includes millions of dollars for pre-kindergarten classrooms, drinking water projects and preservation of a 1,000-acre forest. House members voted 136-8 in favor of the bill Tuesday, shortly after the Senate approved the legislation. It now moves to Gov. Dannel P. Malloys desk. The bonds package one is one several loose ends that lawmakers are tying up regarding the new state budget. They face a midnight adjournment on Wednesday. The House also gave final legislative approval, 142-2, to a school construction funding bill. Lawmakers still need to pass a wide-ranging budget-related bill that includes many details of the $19 billion budget that passed last weekend.
