FROM THE NEWSROOM: Negotiations are still underway between Brooklyn and Putnam regarding the possibility of Brooklyn investing two shares into the Quinebaug Regional Technology Park. After a town hearing was held last month, Brooklyn residents voiced concerns that they would like concrete answers to before voting on whether to make the investment. Questions have also arisen about what officials says is ‘ambiguous” language in the contract. First Selectman Rick Ives said that Putnam has been drafting a response, which should be available on Monday. To further discuss the issues, a special meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, September 18th at 6:30 p.m. It will be located at the Clifford B. Green Building and all residents are invited to attend to have their questions answered. Ives will be inviting Putnam officials to attend also, where they could possibly explain any further details which residents may question. The Board hopes that all of the concerns will be ironed out and a resolution will be made as to whether to concede or proceed with this project. Tune in for the full report.
