FROM THE NEWSROOM: Route 14 in Canterbury is seeing work take place, following wrapup of a repaving project on the Plainfield portion of the road. The State Department of Transportation is working on resurfacing the Canterbury section of Rt. 14, according to First Selectman Brian Sear, which he says will bring the roadway up to par with other major roadways in the town. Sear says work was scheduled to start last Thursday and that catch basins were raised in preparation for the project. The State DOT is completing and funding the project in its entirety. As reported, work on Rt. 14 in Plainfield was backed up severely by several delays, which left the roadway unpaved for three weeks before significant progress was made on the repaving project in that town.
