FROM THE NEWSROOM: Things are looking up for Woodstock Academys projected enrollment for the 2014-15 school year; significantly better than what was being projected just two weeks ago. Headmaster Chris Sandford said that when the budget proposal for this upcoming school year was put together, Academy officials were counting on approximately 1,025 students to enroll; however, a few weeks ago projections were relatively low, at only 1,010 students. So what changed? Sandford said recently students from other private schools in the area, primarily Catholic schools that only go to grade 8, decided to enroll at the Academy bringing the projection back to around 1,025 students. Sandford said it will help prevent cuts in classes, faculty and staff that would have likely been necessary if enrollment numbers didnt see a boost. Tune in for the full report.
