FT/Guard/City AM/Reuters Report that the Church of England has challenged BP and Shell to take responsibility for their carbon footprints and limit their contribution to global warming. Edward Mason, head of responsible investment at the Church Commissioners, said in a Church of England blogpost that, as shareholders, the church had a vital opportunity to influence companies climate change strategy. And that the church will submit a shareholder resolution calling on the energy companies, which are two of the top five investments in its £9bn investment fund, to take action to adapt their businesses over the long term for a low carbon economy. ft/cms/s/0/adf0b1c0-7ba1-11e4-b6ab-00144feabdc0.html?siteedition=intl#axzz3L08u69qv ft/cms/s/0/70dcb1de-7ba2-11e4-a695-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3L08u69qv cityam/1417719271/chur theguardian/environment/2014/dec/04/church-of-england-challenges-bp-shell ch-england-shell-bp-climate-change-global-warming-shareholder-resolution reuters/article/2014/12/04/britain-climatechange-church-idUSL3N0TO5CM20141204 https://churchofengland.org/media-centre/news/2014/12/daily-digest-church-commissioners-challenge-bp-and-shell-to-take-responsibility-for-their-carbon-footprints.aspx
