I was looking at Philips ant picture and thought of a den of Red ants at Tatum, New Mexico. My sister had an old crumbling chili rista that she took off her house and threw away. Red ants discovered it and an army of marching red ants formed a line carrying the dried red chile down into the ant den. They worked a couple of days cleaning up the shattered chile. Then it rained!! The ants at an even faster pace carried the pieces of red chile and the chili seeds back out of the hole and depositing it in a circle about 3 back from the hole into the den. You could plainly see the circle of chile and seeds. Makes me wonder at the emission the wet chile gave off in the den..
