FUN FACT Why is your stuffed bear which you hug to sleep called, a Teddy Bear? Believe it or not, the word teddy bear was derived after the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. Apparently, during a hunting trip to the Mississippi, the President refused to shoot a defenceless Black Bear. Hence, his kindness became associated to bears and bear cubs. A toymaker soon made toy bears and named them Teddy (derived from Theodore). PS: For your information, President Roosevelt hated being called Teddy.
