FYI: Chief Dorsey has announced an initiative to step up crime prevention at the community level as we go into the autumn and winter months. Chief Dorsey has begun Roll Call in the Streets, where Officers from the McDonough Police Department will receive their briefings and orders out in the neighborhoods and businesses during their assigned shifts. With this initiative Chief Dorsey invites community involvement by having the citizens of McDonough attend the roll call briefings. "I want to build a stronger relationship between the citizens of McDonough and the men and women of The McDonough Police Department. By implementing this program, the community will have an opportunity to get to know the officers by name, and make citizens feel comfortable taking an active part in reporting crimes that affect safety within their neighborhoods." The following schedule lists dates and times for the neighborhoods: -October 4, 6am, at Bright Star Day Care, 275 Old Griffin Road -October 18, 6am, at Towne Square Academy, 1005 Labonte Parkway -November 8, 6am, at Henry County Senior Services, Florence McGarity Parkway -October 11, 2pm, Wesley Lakes Elementary School -October 25, 2pm, Bristol Park Subdivision (pool area) -November 15, 2pm, Village at Spring Creek Subdivision (front entrance) -October 11, 10pm, CVS Parking Lot located on Zack Hinton Parkway -October 18, 10pm, Publix at lake Dow parking lot on Hwy 81 -October 31, 10pm, Brush Arbor Subdivision, Hwy 155 North The public is encouraged to attend these 15-20 minute roll call sessions.
