FYI on Potassium I put up this information on our VFS Support Group page and thought that everyone would benefit from this information. Many people have low potassium and below are some foods that will help you with that problem. The daily reccomended amount of potassium is 4,700mg. You can get 1004mg of potassium in only 1 cup of coooked white beans, 839mg of potassium in 1 cup cooked leafy spinach, 926mg of potassium in 1 average sized baked potato with the skin, 755 mg of potassium in only 1/2 cup of dried apricots, 899mg of potassium in 1 cup of cubed baked acorn squash, 625 mg of potassium in 1 cup of plain, skim/non fat yogurt, 534 mg of potassium in one 3oz salmon fillet, 975mg of potassium in one average sized avocado, 428mg of potassium in 1 cup of sliced white mushrooms and 422mg of potassium in one average sized banana. You have a lot of choices to get all the potassium you need in food. As you can see many other foods give you more potassium than a banana even has. Sharon
