Facebook friends who are People of the Gun - 2 questions, looking for honest feedback. First: If given the choice, would you prefer A) Buying from a big box store with high inventory and fairly stable prices. You go in, you point at what you want, pay the man, and are on your way. The bonus to this is "instant gratification" and a large selection of inventory, plus certain items may be obtained at lower costs due to low purchase price from the manufacturer. On the other hand, unless you spend a considerable amount of money, and including employee turnover, you may just be another customer. Or would you rather B) purchasing directly from a personal contact who you work with one on one. Inventory would be limited and most items may need to be ordered, but as a result you can "pay up front" to get something built especially for you. Prices would be dependent on costs from manufacturers, but despite wait times for ordering, items may be slightly to considerably less expensive. In other words, that person would be your go to "gun guy", where you could call or email, say "I want this this and this", and that person would get it out to you, as well as let you know about new products that are hitting the market that may interest you, help with trades/selling, and also facilitate FFL transfers. A firearm concierge, if you will. Two: for people who are considering purchasing a weapon but have not yet, would you consider hiring a "turn key" consultant - someone who would walk you through the entire process, help you pick out the firearm that best suits your situation, you purchase it through them, and then they help you through licensing (if needed/desired, like CHL). You pay a flat fee, and that person handles all the heavy lifting (short of filling out the 4473, of course). Please be honest in your answers. Thanks.
