Fact of the day: No, money doesn’t grow on trees. But gold does. When trees are hungry enough, and in the right area, their roots go so far down that they start extracting minerals, including gold, from deposits deep underground. It’s not much gold, to be fair; you’d need to strip 500 trees before you had enough of the precious metal to make a gold ring. The phenomenon is more useful as a kind of signpost, telling hopeful prospectors where they should start digging.
