Facts From the Big Ten- • Wisconsin currently sits atop the Big Ten standings with a 6-1 conference record. Maryland is in second place at 6-2, followed by third place Indiana at 5-2 and Michigan and Ohio State, who are tied for fourth place with 5-3 Big Ten records. Four conference teams are currently tied for sixth place at 4-3 in conference play. • Two return games are on Saturdays schedule, with Iowa hosting Wisconsin and Minnesota entertaining Nebraska. On Jan. 20, the Badgers defeated the Hawkeyes at the Kohl Center, while Nebraska edged visiting Minnesota. • During the 2014-15 campaign, the Big Ten has welcomed 2,083,983 patrons, the 23rd straight year the conference eclipsed the two-million mark in total attendance. • Tuesdays game between Rutgers and Michigan State at Rutgers Athletic Center has been postponed due to inclement weather in the northeast region. The game will be rescheduled with a date yet to be determined. • The Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List includes Marylands Melo Trimble and Wisconsins Sam Dekker and Frank Kaminsky. The Wayman Tisdale Award Midseason honorees include Indianas James Blackmon Jr., Trimble and Ohio States DAngelo Russell. • Six Big Ten games have been extended to overtime during the conference season, most recently by Michigan and Wisconsin on Saturday at the Crisler Center. Michigan and Michigan State have both played two overtime games, the most in the Big Ten during the conference season. • Penn States D.J. Newbill and Wisconsins Frank Kaminsky were named candidates for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. • Purdues A.J. Hammons eclipsed the 900-career-point plateau with 13 points against Iowa, and is now one of just five Division I players with 900 or more points, at least 500 rebounds and 200 blocks, joining Austin Peays Chris Horton, Californias David Krevish, Oklahomas TaShawn Thomas and UC Santa Barbaras Alan Williams. • In conference games only, Penn States D.J. Newbill leads the Big Ten in scoring at 23.1 points per game, while Michigan States Branden Dawson paces the conference in rebounding, averaging 12.3 caroms per contest. Indianas Troy Williams leads the Big Ten in field goal percentage (.600), the Hoosiers Yogi Ferrell and Ohio States Shannon Scott are the conferences leaders with 5.1 assists per game, while Michigan States Travis Trice paces the Big Ten at 2.1 steals per contest. Illinois Nnanna Egwu leads the conference with 2.0 blocks per game. • Four Big Ten teams received votes in the latest Associated Press (AP) or USA Today Coaches top 25 polls, including a pair of top-15 squads. Wisconsin leads the way at No. 5/5 (AP/USA Today). Maryland (No. 16/13) and Indiana (No. 22/21) also appear among the top 25, while Ohio State received votes in both polls.
