~~~ Faith is a bridge Connecting the earthly and the spiritual; Enabling us to see what we couldn’t see And do what we couldn’t do And have what we couldn’t have. ~~~ Cathy Crabtree Faith is not our believing in something that doesn’t exist; it’s our believing in things that have already been provided for but our physical eyes haven’t seen them yet. Faith is spiritual and can bring the things from the spiritual realm into the physical realm where we can see them with our physical eyes. Faith can lasso something that’s at a great distance and bring it to the present. Faith has to be more real to us than what we see or don’t see. (Sometimes, we can see better when our physical eyes are closed.) Faith is seeing and trusting with the eyes of our spirit and not with the eyes in our head. Believing what God says and acting on it is faith; our words carry our faith and our actions act out our faith (which is what we believe). If we say we believe and don’t act on that belief, we will not see what we are hoping for because “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:1-3 We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. … We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 4:18; 5:7 …So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 …As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26 Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:17 If we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25 The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.
