FanQ:Sorry to bother u ladies with this but I really need help and some good advice here. T.I.A. BEAR WITH ME ITS A LITTLE LONG. My daughter is 2 soon to be 3 and I have been working with her pediatrician for quite a while with this but I want to know if any of you moms have had this happen and how you dealt with it and what finally helped it get better. My LO has been sleeping with me and my husband since birth and just recently over the last few months has been waking up after sleeping for 3 to 4 hrs screaming and throwing fits. let me explain all the details so you understand how bad these fits are. She wakes crying and bawling her eyes out. She will cry for me but if I talk to her calmly she will scream at the top of her lungs and cry harder. I gently ask her whats wrong and the screaming worsens. If I try to offer her anything like her cup with water, cuddling, etc she cries even harder and continuously screams NO to the point where my neighbors can hear her loud and clear while sobbing. She gets up runs around slamming doors, hitting her bed and ours, yelling kicking screaming and crying. She also will hit me repeatedly while screaming no and sobbing. If I move in any way even to shift my weight from one arm to another or rub my eye or anything she will yank me around so I am where she wants me and continues everything mentioned above. this goes on for at least an hour every time she wakes up with nothing I do or dont do helping. I have stayed very calm and tried talking to her, ignoring her, doing what she wants and even trying to be firm with her but nothing helps. I am at a complete loss. Im not 100 percent sure but have dealt with night terrors before with my older 3 and they were nothing as bad as this is. When I asked docs about it and read up more on them ive been informed that night terrors usually occur within a half hous to an hour after falling asleep and this is happening 3 to 4 hrs after that. Her 1st episode was at 5am and now its around 3 am so there is no consistency to time. They get worse each time and its to the point where she is so upset during this that she gasps for breath. I am waiting on another call back from her doc. I am completely baffled and at a loss and need any advice if you have been thru this and what else could I do??? plz keep anon and absolutely no bashing. I know I am a good mom and This is recently new to us. Reposted by -Shannon
