Fans of the #Kpop boy band #100percent received a double whammy on Monday. That was when the groups record label #TOPMedia, owned by #Shinhwa singer #AndyLee, released a statement announcing that neither frontman #SeoMinwoo or singer #LeeSanghoon would be returning for the groups scheduled comeback in March. #Rockhyun, #Jonghwan, #Chanyong, #Changbum and #Hyukjin are preparing for a comeback, the TOP statement read. #Minwoo will be enlisting in the army in April, and #Sanghoon will be taking a break before he decides on his career path. All eligible males between the ages of 18 and 35 currently must enroll for between 21 and 24 months of military service in #SouthKorea (the length of mandatory enrollment changes by several months depending on which branch of the military that they serve in). According to the label, Sanghoon is still unsure of the course his future plans will take, but they apparently will not include being a member of 100%. Sanghoon expressed his desire to take a break and think about what he wants to do, so the decision was made after fully discussing with him and his parents, the statement read. Consisting of five vocalists and two rappers, 100% made their recording debut in 2012, with the three-song EP We, 100%. The group followed it up later that year with the single Guy Like Me and the 2013 album Real 100%. Back in 2012, shortly after We, 100% was released, producer #SuperChangddai, who also wrote the album, praised the groups potential in an interview with the #Korean publication #Naver. 100% is a skilled group, rich in musical talent, Super said. Each member has their own distinctive voice. I am looking forward to seeing their debut performance. 100% is slated to release a new album in March as part of their imminent comeback, according to the publication #eNEWS. The news division of the Korean media conglomerate #CJEandM, eNEWS has offered rave reviews for 100% from the beginning. Contributor Grace Danbi Hong was generous in her praise of the music video for Bad Boy the day after We, 100% was released. Dancing in the middle of the dessert, the members showed flawless moves and provided a catchy song with a fast tempo and exciting beats, she wrote. Writer: Jesse Lent
