Farewell Todd MacDonald but not forever. I am so sorry I cant - TopicsExpress

Farewell Todd MacDonald but not forever. I am so sorry I cant be there for your farewell morning tea but it seems like it really isnt farewell at all. Its a cliche to talk about how fast the time has gone, what good memories, what deep friendships, what amazing achievements but its true. All these things are true and I treasure them. Equally important have been the disagreements, the tensions, the need for persuasive arguments, the battle for resources and the push to make things better. I have valued it all and QTC became a better theatre company because of it. I often talked to people about needing someone who was different to me as an Associate, held different values and processes, who could artistically challenge and extend the company, who complimented my view of the world beyond my limitations. You have always been that and more. Grit in the oyster makes it sound like an irritation but you have created so many pearls in those 4 years through your push and support of artists. Kelly, Venus in Fur, The Mountaintop, The Button Event, Witness Relocation, MDA, support for Dan Evans and his work, support for Steven Mitchell Wright, Candy Bowers and Busty Beatz, Love TV, The Greenhouse gardens project, redevelopment of the foyer spaces, challenging the company to work with more diverse artists...the list is endless and I will no doubt miss some if I continue. Needless to say you have had a profound influence over the company and me in the past 4 years and I look forward to seeing and supporting you in this next set of relationships we are embarking on. Farewell Todd and best wishes....but maybe we should be saying Adieu....see you again soon. Love Wesley.
