Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident Press Release - UPDATE: August 7, 2014 The Town of Lloyd Police is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving three cars on Chapel Hill Rd in the Town of Lloyd at approximately 12:44pm on August 06. Mildred Cerra, age 83 of Highland was travelling west on Chapel Hill Road in a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero when she failed to stop for a 2008 Volkswagen GTI operated by Frances Ghaly, age 42 of Highland who was stopped to make a left turn into a driveway when Cerra struck Ghalyís car from behind. Cerra then crossed into the east bound lane and struck a 2013 Hyundai Sonata which was east bound on Chapel Hill Rd and operated by George Carola, age 54 of Hyde Park. Cerra, Ghaly and Carola were all transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester County by Mobile Life Ambulance where Cerra was pronounced dead. Ghaly and Carola were treated for non-life threating injuries. Lloyd Police were assisted at the scene by Highland Fire Department, Mobil Life Ambulance and the Ulster County Sheriffís Department.
