Fatigue and stress: Many of my clients come to discuss fatigue. Most of them understand the connection between fatigue and the stress mechanism but state that they are not under any more stress than the average person. When most of us assess our stress we look at our external life and its pressures, time, deadlines, work hours etc. While this is certainly relevant, it is not the whole picture. Most stress conditions are the result of internal pressures created by different parts or needs within the personality. The most common personality parts creating internal conflict are a) a need to achieve and do well, combined with b) a preference for pleasing others, avoiding conflict and not rocking the boat. These two personality patterns in combination create a great deal of internal conflict and tension. Most people with fatigue and chronic pain syndromes (IBS, fibromyalgia, migraines, arthritis etc) have this combination and identify episodes resulting from their internal conflicts. Of course we also use nutrition and supplements to treat fatigue and pain conditions, and this helps enormously. But to switch off the stress drivers, we help the parts of the personality to work more effectively together. The perfectionist part needs to chill out and the people pleaser part needs to learn extreme self care. Does this apply to you?? If so, todays message is to chill out a bit and focus on self preservation. Learning to be selfish is a key skill for happiness. Re-write the word selfish in your mind today and do something that is good for you at the deepest level. From: https://facebook/SelinaByrneWellbeingSolutions
