Favorite part of todays sermon that wont stop running around in my head (totally paraphrased): Mary wanted Christs body back so she can have closure, to end the story, so she can finish her little memoir of Jesus. But it is in that moment, when shes weeping, despairing, looking for God to show up in ways she comprehends, that Jesus comes back with the most epic plot twist in human history: the story hasnt ended; its only just begun. Jesus refuses to be summarized in a memoir, and that is the implication when we say He is alive! We are not celebrating a set of principles, or a guy in history that died for noble reasons, but the life given to us that has just begun! Something about The Lord showing Himself to a weeping woman first and calling her name is really blessing my heart this weekend. It was so joyful worshipping with brothers and sisters from all three congregations today. AND CHOIR IS STILL FUN. Praise Jesus.
