Roger Federer intends to keep alive his Grand Slam streak at Roland Garros and may even play next week’s ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, his agent Tony Godsick confirmed today. On Tuesday Federer and wife Mirka celebrated the birth of their second set of twins, sons Leo and Lenny. “Roger plans on playing Roland Garros and he will make a decision at the last minute if he will play Rome depending on how everything is going with his family,” Godsick told ATPWorldTour. The 32-year-old Swiss has played in a record 57 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, this past January eclipsing the mark previously set by Wayne Ferreira in 2003. He will be making his 16th straight appearance at Roland Garros, where he won the title in 2009 to complete a career Slam. Last year, he fell to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-finals. Federer began his European clay-court campaign last month by reaching the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters final, posting back-to-back wins over Tsonga and defending champion Novak Djokovic before falling to countryman Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets.
