Feeling extremely grateful to have a mom with such a compassionate, giving, caring, and loving heart. Despite all of her crazy battles and moments of weakness she remains so positive and continuously pays it forward. That being said, I feel compelled to share this story. I love her so much. We have a neighbor that lives down the street whom we have never met. Over the years, we along with many others in the neighborhood, have seem him outside constantly tending to his lawn, trying to perfect it. Although, we do not know him personally, we feel like we know him because we have casually observed him on the way to school, work, dinner, etc. The other day, we passed by his house and there were ambulances all around, paramedics walking in and out of his house. We immediately started praying that he was okay. When we drove by after all of the commotion died down, we noticed that his lawn was only half mowed. What a gut wrenching feeling- did he collapse while tending to his yard in the ridiculous Houston heat? We arent sure what happened. A couple days passed and the lawn was still only half mowed so my mom, being the compassionate person she is, hired a lawn maintenance company to finish mowing the rest of his lawn. We arent sure what the status of his health his or if hell ever return. But I feel comforted knowing that he or his family will return to lawn that is mowed all the way. I pray that I will have a spec of the heart that my mom has. What an inspiration.
