Fell in love with this little girl at the STEM academy meeting on Tuesday. They had gone over proper uses for the IPADs the kids are going to get to use. She waited in line to speak to the principal and then I listened to her make a very solid case for why Minecraft is educational. She explained that it uses math to create buildings and things and that there are critical thinking skills and logical thinking and problem solving for all kinds of aspects of the game. She was very serious and very specific. What impressed me was her poise and thought. What impressed me even more was that the principal listened to her and added to some ideas and said maybe they could even make Minecraft part of her homework. Guess I better figure out what that is ;) This is going to be one awesome school I can tell.
