Fellow Daytonites- A quick interest survey. How many of you would be interested in being allowed to keep a few chickens in your backyard for fresh eggs? Id love to, but currently, you must have 1+ acres to do so. Lyon County is currently working on revisions to the county land use codes, and Im wondering if theres any support for trying to make a provision for keeping a few backyard chickens. Many areas across the country (many more urban than our own community) already allow backyard chickens (usually limited to about 4 chickens, no roosters) and Id like to try to revise the Lyon County code to allow it. Anyone else like to see this happen?
