Fellow dog owners have you spoken to your vet about registering your dogs as blood donors? In WA we have no canine blood bank, the only thing our local vets can rely on in an extreme emergency is your pup. The only criteria they have to meet; must be over 1 year old & over 25 kgs. A dear friend of mine lost her much loved puppy recently when she was poisoned, she suffered terrible damage from internal bleeding & although she was given blood transfusions, sadly she passed away. This sad event spurred me to make enquiries with The Hugging Vet & thankfully now Darcy & Echo are registered blood donors. The only thing required of you is a phone call to your vet. RIP Phoenix - beautiful girl x
