Ferguson The last few days’ activities in Ferguson have been revolting. It is one thing to protest and quite another to riot. Riots are not (or should not be) tolerated in this country. Civilized people protest, organize and, under our form of government, VOTE. The local government and police force in Ferguson are overwhelmingly white while the population is 70 percent African American. How can that be? Well, only 12 percent of voters turned out for the last election. I suggest that the protests will yield nothing, other than an uptick in the unemployment rate (destroyed businesses), while civic involvement and voting will result a more representative government.
