Few nights ago I shared this and said there was something very spiritual about this and tonite it came to me. It is the actions of a heyoka, ( Contrary Person ) I was talking to a friend about such things and realized .... I remember a relative dying and everyone was crying or being somber at the funeral and after she was covered up, this Heyoka started singing a song and dancing upon her grave, laughing and letting out war whoops ( Akishasha ). It was his way of showing sorrow and sadness for his aunt. and the dance was high stepping. We have been conformed to reacting in certain ways of our traditions and also of western society, and these heyoka were put in our society to bring clarity, through humor and antics. They very seldom bring attention to themselves but their actions speaks for them. John Fire ( Lame Deer, Seeker of Vision ) fame was such a man and he always danced at pow wows with a skirt with a wire rim and ladies hat. They didnt care what people thought of them. and these young men in this video unknowningly carried a message. especially when he turned his cap around, and danced with one leg, holding his leg with one arm, and notice the Iktomi ( Spider webs on the camera, That in itself should say something) .......
