Few questions I missed during the webinar: Q in balance sheet whether equity is calculated by market price of share or by book value of share A In balance sheet , equity is calculated on book value (also known as face value) Q how can collect data regarding industry averages? A Industry averages can be calculated either from using published reports of the companies in a given industry or by using sources like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters etch Q When we distribute the dividends to share holders ... we open an account where the amount is kept and than given to customers when they want to withdraw BUT there are many customers who do not withdraw dividends for many years so as a Bank or company one has to keep that in DEPOSITS side ? OR in a PAYABLE side ? in accounts or else can be done ? A Dividends payables will show on the payables side, at a certain point in time the company may decide to write off the payable if the customers don’t show up, lets say for 20 years (different companies have different policies) however it will show as payables until then
