Fight to Bring Recess Back to Manatee County Schools: 215 Manatee Ave. W - meeting starts at 5:45 - be there no later than 5:30 to complete a comment card for the opportunity to voice your opinion. Tomorrow night I will be making a motion before the School Board of Manatee County requesting a resolution to implement a policy regarding recess in our schools. As many of you may know, it is my legal opinion that the Superintendents office of Manatee County overreached its authority when it directed the principals of Manatee County to reduce recess. I now have 3 attorneys who concur with my opinion. We need to demonstrate to our School District that we will not stand by and watch as they violate the law to the detriment of our children. Please support our children and their freedom to be children by telling our School Board how the lack of recess has negatively impacted your child/children or if you wish to demand that our District follow the laws which regulate their office.
