Fiji powerlifters impress, rake in medals SUVA, 16 DECEMBER 2014 (FBC NEWS) --- Fiji recorded a powerful performance at the Asia/Oceania Power lifting Championships in Melbourne, Australia. The six-member squad collected twelve gold medals, seven silver and eight bronze medals, breaking several records along the way. Veteran Seinimili Turner won a total of five gold medals in the master’s grade as well as smashing the Commonwealth, World and Oceania records. Ana Garnett collected four gold medals and silver in the women’s 84kg category. Melania Waqasokonibogi won four silver medals and a bronze in the same category. Elesi Ikanidrodro won five bronze medals in the 84kg open grade category. The result put’s Fiji status as major medal contenders for the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
