Fil-o-sof-ick-ul question... I just watched this Nova program - TopicsExpress

Fil-o-sof-ick-ul question... I just watched this Nova program about about the asteroid that exploded over Siberia. They were discussing the possibility of being able to warn people about these sort of events, and it got me thinking... Suppose such a cataclysmic event had become inevitable...earth will be destroyed...humanity will be wiped out, and nothing can be done. Each person can receive one, and only one warning. They will be given the warning, they will become aware of the warning and may formulate plans, all in less than a millisecond...they will remember their plans, but they will not remember how much their warning is. There is no way for the person receiving the warning to convey how much warning they chose to anyone else. Your warning interval can range from one year to one second, but theres a catch...your interval has a margin of error of one interval +/-...if you choose a one year warning, the event can happen anytime between now and two years from now...chose a one second warning, and the event will happen between the time you received the warning and two seconds afterward. So...how much warning would you chose? Or is it like one of the women who once passed through my life told me, Bill, I love you, but sometime you make my brain hurt! Oh, ignore any theological implications...its just a silly party game...
