Film # 870 - THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE w/ beautiful Jennifer Lawrence, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, and Woody Harrelson. Fresh off her victory in the 74th Annual Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta go on a cross-country tour to promote the upcoming 75th Annual Games. Rebellion is in the air, and Katniss triumph has instilled hope in the depressed, hungry populace that threatens the president, who hatches a deadly scheme to destroy the nations new, heroic couple. Okay, admittedly, I came into the middle of this Trilogy and admit to having to watch the third and final installment when it is released within the next year. With that said, I found the nearly 2-1/2 running time excessive and found myself growing bored when the on-screen action began to lag. Maybe it was the comfy leather recliner, but it seems the film couldve been tighter. On the plus side, Jennifer Lawrence shined, and the supporting cast bolstered the script. The film score fit the mood and tone of the film perfectly. My score: 3-1/2 stars MULTI-PLEX WORTHY? Still waiting in line. The Movie Gye
