Finally, after years of putzing around and converting, re-converting files; cutting and recutting, mailing hard drives, picking up shots, etc......... This is a big post for me, because this project represents a very distinct period of creative and personal growth (which obviously comes with its share of turmoil.) If this reads like an acceptance speech, its because Ive finally accepted the project for what it was, and have resigned to commit this representation of it to the annals of online media. Here is a semblance of the live performance I did for In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre in May of 2013. This was my first live show, and if I had it to do over I would have done a lot differently and a lot the same. Im super proud of the work I did on this and of the experience I had with my team of volunteers, and especially my fellow 2013 Puppetlab Fellows Rosie Jablonsky, Eben Kowlerand Steven Ackerman, and fearless leader Alison Heimstead. Lit by maestro George Meyer, video by Neal Morise and Daniel J. Scott. Edited by myself and Mat Millerthrough mail correspondece. Scenery and Puppets all by me. Music by Bunnies in Baskets, ala Ryan Wurstand Josh McGarvey. Puppeteers were Eric Bryson, Kit Leffler, Elyse Lyon, Angela Olson, Sarah Kopp-Reddy, Erin Wegner, and lamentably, myself. Thanks to Michael Sommers of Open Eye Figure Theatre, and Liz Schacterle of Full Moon Puppet Show, for mentoring and coddling me as I flopped around in black light paint.
