Finally other European & English football seasons are over! Yes we were subjected to some excellent and dreadful football at times but football fans enjoyed every minute of it.Our weekends will never be the same again and will miss the beautiful game for the next few months. I still think the EPL is the best league in the world and it has been proven that the EPL is the most popular league in the world by miles. England is the most compact, densely populated country to host a top-level league, which gifts the football world a wealth of local derbies. With its canny mix of money, broadcasting and global ambition, the Premier League embodied that renaissance and continues to dominate the worlds best game today. l love it!!! The peoples team played so well under difficult conditions, they huffed and puffed soldiering on despite so many injuries to key players. We once again achieved our minimum with ease(Champions League position) against all odds, especially referees targeting us in every game.Manchester City won the league because they have a squad while Gunners & Liverpool have teams, so its always difficult to compete with a team which uses 2 teams to compete managing to alternate and rest players. The fact that Arsenal squad is too thin & too much is asked of key players too often, is a major cause of our injury levels. It could be avoided if the club bolstered the squad in the close-season. The fact that we consistently dont bolster our squad is why injuries are a perennial problem. Its more than that imo. The inability to rotate isnt a problem early in the season yet we still experience the same problem. Its been like that for several seasons. That said, a bigger squad would help us cope when it (almost inevitably)happens.Mr Wenger needs to get a few players for next season to add to the quality we have, as simple as that. Congratulations to Sheikh Monsour and his men from the Middle East based in East Manchester for buying the league. Despite every neutral wanting Liverpool to win it for the sake of football, perhaps the gods of football thought otherwise. Congratulations to City. Table does not lie and over 38 games the best team won. As a Gunner fan I am naturally very disappointed but nevertheless I am so, so proud of the way Wenger has continued to bring respectability, discipline, passion, good football and financial stability to the great Arsenal Club. As for Liverpool you certainly achieved much under Brendan Rodgers, much more then any real Liverpool fan could have expected at the start of the season, but l know it still hurts to be so close and yet so far at the end of the day.Liverpool played good attacking and entertaining football this season and well done for pushing City all the way. At least you finished ahead of the bus driver and his whining mouth. You indeed treated us to some fine counter attacking football and you were a joy to watch at times. Roman Abromivichs Chelsea team showed us some glimpse of good football at times with great performances against big premier league teams. Chelsea is the only top 4 side which collected points against championship rivals, 6 against Man City, 6 against Liverpool, 4 against Arsenal and 4 against Man United but still failed to win the Championship. Their manager Jose is the reason why they flopped and came out empty handed. His tactics of parking buses against bigger opponents and rivals backfired when he faced weaker opposition, where his team came out to play football but in the process got exposed and dropped crucial points against small teams which eventually cost Chelsea the league. The 2013/14 premier league season has been hailed as the best since the premiership was formed in 1992 even though it has been a disaster of a season to one Manchester United team, the most successful club since the formation of the premiership. Why a giant of a club like Red Devils was reduced to an average premiership team is criminal. Its not that Man U lost players, 2012/13 championship winning team under Fergie remained at Old Trafford, they even bolstered their squad by buying Fellain and Mata. Fergie also remained on sight at Old Trafford and for the same players to perform so badly under Moyes is a clear sign they didnt want him as their new manager. But for me biggest factor in all of this is they are not used to playing on a level playing surface. Time put to put in that extra percentage required to win games fairly Red Devils. On the other hand the players sabotaged Moyo and put the club into disrepute. We as Gunners enjoyed the rivalry between World and Englands two most recognized and loved clubs, that is Arsenal and Manchester United. Its a shame not to have Red Devils in European Competitions next season, it will never be the same without them and Arsenal will be the only British team attracting television audiences world wide. Finally Manchester City bought the title whether people disagree or not, just as Chelsea did years ago and in the process the manner in which both clubs have splashed their cash has unbalanced, at the highest level, the previously beautiful game. A great shame indeed!!! Wishing all my fellow Gooners and other fans a happy off-season. To true Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and City fans who always follow and comment on my football views and opinions obviously biased towards my Club Arsenal keep the faith and hope for next season. To those who won enjoy your victory, commiseration to those who came out empty handed this season and thanks for the fair and balanced banter we share on these pages. To those that dont understand the football rivalry and banter, please stay out of my face book page, its not for the faint hearted. You better try to visit other pages to do with farming and mining elsewhere. To my football friends please come back to this page to congratulate the Peoples team on Saturday evening for winning the prestigious English FA Cup 2014!
