Finding my feet So, I just took a lunch break after about half an hour at the kit and as much as I loved being at the kit again, it also made me realize that I have so much work to do. So much that it’s not even funny anymore. I’m still stuck on the same few songs, my legs aren’t very strong and I’ve been squandering time doing unimportant things like working and eating and sleeping when I should have been drumming. Geez, what was I doing socializing and learning about world war two? (after watching Schindler’s List the other night, the history nerd came out in me and now I have books to read) The only positive thing about this whole socializing thing that I’ve been doing is the bands that I’ve been going to see. I saw a band on Friday after going to see Wired in which Travis Clarke continued to remind me of how little I know about bass (Trav will appreciate the line “you know nothing, Jon Snow -or in this case, Alana) and Davey Porter continued to remind me that I need to go to the gym more. After Wired we hit 114 where I assumed that I would spend most of my time outside, chatting to my friends and ignoring whatever was going on inside – till I heard the band. to their extremely talented guitarist Joey Amenta. The guy wasn’t just good, he was GOOD. Yes, the capital letters are deserved and if you don’t believe me, go check em out. If guitars aren’t your thing, drummer Norbert Mancusi should get your attention for his style and passion whilst playing. Ohhh, and it’s always fun to celebrate the great music Australia has produced. Here’s their facebook page. https://facebook/pages/KINGS-of-OZ-Aussie-Rock-Tribute-Show/413065428769612?hc_location=stream Now, I’m off to eat some lunch and then go play some drums/bass/guitar cause that’s the kind of day that it is. Here, have a Springsteen song. This one’s Something In The Night youtube/watch?v=4oaGsxfGoVY
