First Day of Summer is this Saturday - Get Your Plumbing Ready for Summer It’s important to get your plumbing system ready for each new season, and up next: summer. By taking action now, you can work to avoid potential problems with your plumbing and sewer systems. Be sure to keep these things in mind for the upcoming season: 1.Bulging Pipes and Hoses – Check over all pipes for leaks or bulges. You may end up using more water in warmer weather for laundry (think all the outdoor activities, vacations, camps, etc) and will want to check your washing machine hoses for leaks. 2.Garbage Disposal Care – Summertime is perfect for bringing out the BBQs for gatherings, but keep in mind most disposals aren’t equipped to handle corn husks and other heavy in fiber foods. Be sure to avoid throwing these down the disposal and flush it frequently with water to prevent clogs. 3.Sewer Lines and Septic Systems – In the event of excessive rain fall, rainwater can flood sewer lines since it often carries large amounts of debris. Tree and root growth can also easily cause issues that may be hard to identify right away. Before summer really hits make sure you to give your plumbing system a full review, and to help you do that – give one of our experts here at Shelton Plumbing a call: 254-751-9655.
