First I want to say that when it sounds like Im stepping up to preach a little, I probably need to hear it as bad as anyone. I cant quote scripture and tell you where it is found in the Bible like I should and I dont always make the choices that I should. I have failed ,still continue to fail and I feel pretty confident that I will continue to fail more in my life. But until I give up and quit trying , I am moving in the right direction, toward God. There is a little church camp that is east of Letts that I have always heard called Letts camp. I remember going there as a boy with mom. Not always by choice of mine, but by the nudging of a Godly mother, which I am thankful for. Camp was held there last week and ended this past Sunday night. I had not made it any and mom asked me to go with her Sunday night. She had told me about this young preacher and that he was preaching some very good messages, knew the Bible very well and she even said she was afraid someone might end up having to revive him cause he really got in to his preaching. So I went. You know how sometimes you have an opportunity or several opportunities but you do not take advantage of them till its the last opportunity you have and then you wish you would have acted sooner because you realize you just missed out. That was how I felt Sunday night. This young preacher was 35 years old but he knew how to preach a message. Not eloquent, or pretty or what you wanted to hear to make you feel good,but what he felt God had put upon him that needed to be heard. He preached a message like they used to preach when I was little. I would have to say there really wasnt much politically correctness to it. He preached on Heaven and hell. Not a sweet sugar coated version either. When each one if us dies , we will either go to Heaven or hell. There will be no second chances. We each will stand in front of God and hear, well done good and faithful servant or depart from me , I know you not. Do you believe in hell? Has the world convinced us that we are living hell here on earth and that we all are going to heaven. That the loving God we know would not send anyone to hell. Thats right He would not send us to hell, but if we have not been forgiven of our sins that is where we will condemn ourselves to. God wants everyone to be in heaven, from the worst person you could imagine to the best of the best. As I waited till the last night to go, I still made it. But I feel I missed out on so much by not going sooner. God will forgive a person if they ask with their dying breath I believe, but does anyone know when that will be. Will it be before Christ returns? In the blink of an eye! At that point I dont think there will be any more chances. Hell is final and complete separation from God, from light , from good. Torment, pain , misery, nothing that is good is there. Dont wait to long!
