First congratulations to all the Cadets who attended training this summer. - Air Assault School for Cadet Jesslyn Clark. - Airborne school for Cadet Kenneth Music. - CULP: Cadet Nathaniel Arndt, Thailand Cadet Jesslyn Clark, Kosovo Cadet Trent Dial, Dominica Cadet Kenneth Music, Chile Cadet Ian Powers, Czech Republic -LDAC: 11 Cadets completed LDAC this summer -LTC: Three Cadets (Lovejoy, Olma, and Boyd) completed LTC I also want to update everyone on the latest changes in ROTC. Basic Officer Leadership Development (BOLD) Transformation Changes for School Year 2014 – 2015 Leadership Development and Assessment Course Initial purpose of LDAC was to standardize evaluations, do BOLC A tasks and feed the OML An assembly line without enough attention to individuals Basic Officer Leadership Development (BOLD) transformation gets after leader development LTC cadets learn more about leadership than LDAC cadets because they have no pressure of being evaluated in order to graduate MS 15 cadets will access using the old OML Talent Management It includes a battery of tests that measure talents, abilities and what you might be good at Seniors and Juniors will take these tests (sophomores if it is possible) The use of Talent Management will ensure that OML will no longer be the single determining factor for accessions - it will be a larger component of the accessions process for MS 16 We will inform Cadets after the Analysis is done of what (branches) for which they might best be suited Tell cadets not to stress. They need to grow where they are planted. We are going to use this so the U.S. Army can best take advantage of their talents. For MS IIIs we will use these tests to help shape expectations and research on branches West Point has done if for 2 years and has had very few not select (preference) branches where their talents lie. Changes There are two paradigm shifts for the command Take the evaluation off of the juniors and Two, dont need the seniors to train the juniors to get them ready for LDAC Develop analytical thinkers and problem solvers No STXs and No Land Nav We are deepening the learning of the lecture Labs will be vignettes and digital media. Deepen their (cadets) knowledge of Learning. Campus is for education.
