First day in Lima. Started the day with breakfast in the hostel. Then decided to walk to the National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru. After wandering for awhile in the general direction, we ended up having to ask for directions twice to find it. After the museum we had lunch at a little hole-in-the-wall vegetarian cafe that Belle Mathieu loved. Then we walked back towards our hostel to go to the center of Lima, where they have the Governors Palace. We also walked through the Cathedral De San Francisco, which sits above a huge mausoleum. I also thought it was odd that the shrine for Christ was tucked in to the side, and less prominent then the other shrines in the cathedral. It was a good first full day in Peru. Tomorrow we head to Paracas, to hopefully see some penguins and weird skulls.
