First of all I am not a fan of Tendulkar, I do respect him for his career and achievements but certainly not his fanatic and never will be. But I do feel he should get the Bharat Ratna. This is the last line of the article, Not giving it to him will raise the value of the Bharat Ratna. We can tell ourselves: “Even Sachin Tendulkar wasn’t good enough for it.” When many undeserving people have already received the Bharat Ratna for many years now, why deny a man like Tendulkar the honor, who he is certainly better than many who have received it so far. So either strip Bharat Ratna from all the undeserving people or continue to give it so, even if the process is a bit hasty. Why start the cleansing with this man as the start? Give it to Tendulkar. PS: Nevertheless a good article. It takes guts to write an article such as this in these times where people are very sensitive to criticism.
