Floor B1 Room 106 I She had passed me a note in class: “Will you be my model?” She was a painter & a stranger. We first met week by week. Then day by day. In a basement in a room where she would ensue to collect these portraits. II As I her subject, she my creator, shrouding the canvas ambivalent how jaded I had become. Spellbinded Spellbinded- Spellbinded my once vibrant soul seized by the leer of the painter. For with every cast of her brush, I am no longer myself but her will. III Then one day, she stopped. I mean refused. For there is no ‘she’ who paints me, how colorless I feel. Fragments of my soul scattered amongst the wall of Floor B1, room 106. Each and every portrait a reminder I am now merely flesh and bones. Framed & Hung Never Whole -James J H Gweon
